Hello
Family and Friends! I hope you all know how much of a help you are to
me and to those around you! Sometimes when we go tracking we do a survey
(it really opens up the conversation and we don't get shut down as fast)
but our first question is What is your first source of help is this
life? and almost everyone says family and friends. And I echo that,
behind my Heavenly Father, family and friends have become a great source
of help in my life, so thank you all so much!
Moving on past
the mushy gushy stuff we will get straight to the week, or actually the
weather because I talk more about the weather I feel like than I do about
my investigators. Anyways after what had been a nice warm week with a
little bit of rain, not much, I woke up to a blizzard. Yay.. Mother
nature got me on the one, just when I thought spring was here they pull
the rug out from under our feet and send us back into winter haha. But
it wont last long.
Anyways this week we had stake conference in
Tampere so that was super fun! We went to the Saturday session and then stayed the night there at the Zone Leaders apartment along with 12
other missionaries! Talk about a packed apartment! But it was so fun!
Elder Brown and Elder Bowden from my MTC group were there so we got to
talk and that was enjoyable! I will love those guys till the day I die
haha. That night after the Saturday session we went on splits with one
of the Zone Leaders, (so me and my comp and one ZL went on splits) and
contacting in a tripanionship, is not effective at all haha. I feel like
a gang haha! But we made it work and had a great time! Then just having
fun and being real with the people we were contacting this guy next to a
river and he had met the missionaries many times and we have gotten to
fun loving joking conversation. Anyways we committed him to be baptized
and joking said we can go in the river right now and do it. He thought
that was all fun in games haha. Thats my favorite part, its just being
real with people, being able to tell that they don't want to talk with
us, so you just become their friend instead of pushing on something they
don't want. This is all after inviting them to make commitments of
course, and when they reject, you just become their friends. Missionary
work is more fun that way, and you leave a better mark on them and
impression on the church.
Anyways Stake conference was really
fun and I got to see my old companion again, that was fun! We took the
bus back to Lahti and then we continued on with our work like normal!
